Desperate to find a reason to believe.

Trump rallies like the one shown, in which minorities are influenced by members of their own marginalized group to show support to a man like Donald Trump are particularly disappointing to me. The “cheering attendees” get fooled into not looking beneath the mask of a trickster to whom they are giving undeserved respect.

These events prove the truth of the proposition that “It is so much easier to fool people, than to get them to admit that they have been fooled”. Donald is the master of finding some bonehead leader of such “minorities” to rope in “the suckers” for him. And it is not just people of color for whom I am disappointed. It is anyone who has felt the constant lash of oppression for any length of time or to any degree of severity. So, beyond religious groups like Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, etc., we can include every exploited working class American of all colors, faiths and creeds. They are all oppressed; and they all are being played.

Listing my opiniated personal list of Donald’s worst 100 words and deeds would bore you (and me) to sleep before my next sentence. But indulge me for a minute and consider the following simple notion about what I believe to be the best key to understanding the true nature and character of this man, the world’s best Con Man (props are due).

Let us assume for the sake of this conversation that it is true and verifiable that Donald at age approximately 20 years old in 1965 did in fact inherit somewhere between 400 and 500 million dollars from his father. In my neighborhood this factoid is what we would have called “more than good luck”; more likely it would be described as “an incredibly good, head start in life”.

I believe that when Donald’s tax records finally become public (very soon) it will be shown that never once since or after his 20th birthday present did he ever think to make any charitable contributions to any charity. It is most likely that his estate planners and his financial consultants had all advised him of all the many reasons why all wealthy families make charitable contributions, not the least of which are compassion and care. But it is equally likely that a very selfish Donald would have deliberately declined making such donations. And of course, his own Trump charitable Foundation was determined to be a fraud and accordingly shut down; without Donald having to part with a single dollar.

My point is that most people who score a $400 million windfall generally (at some point) feel an inclination to give back a little to those less lucky, if for no other reason than to keep on the good side of the Dollar Gods. NOT DONALD! The fact is that he has never done anything for anybody less fortunate than himself in his entire life; a life that is dedicated only to acquiring more and more and more; that should tell you something about his character. And that something is that this is a man who to the very core of his essence… to the very bottom of every molecule and atom of his being, has nothing in there for compassion for others.

His two true guiding principles, which have governed his life every waking hour are:

1. What is in it for me? And

2. How can I cheat so as to increase my odds for success to continue to unjustly enrich myself even more?

The extent of such selfishness is rare and breathtaking. Most people have a basic instinct for doing good; for wanting to help those less fortunate than themselves to whatever even small measure when possible. Donald has no such instinct. His only interest is himself. Any concern for others is only a possibility; and only if it somehow also redounds to him.

Most caring citizens of the world would consider such narrow selfishness as “stinginess on steroids”, especially coming from a beneficiary of hundreds of millions of dollars. The concept of helping those less fortunate, of sharing your fortunate bounty to ease the burden of a fellow traveler, does not occur to Donald. He does not do any such help or sharing. Human suffering is of no concern to him.

And yet, it is still always surprising for me to witness how easily my fellow citizens of good will and intelligence trade their values for loyalty to him based only upon some well-staged crafted hollow gains that Donald Trump proclaims that he has so magnanimously bestowed upon them or their groups; (The Unemployed, Angry Workers of Desperate County, Everywhere), (The White Wannabee Militia Boys of Dum Shit Township, Anywhere), (The Minority Group Believers in Trump Token Promises, of Broken Dreams, USA), etc. etc.

Donald will abuse the Seal of his office framed by American “flags a flying” to rant, slur, and rave about his or your victimization. The gigantic self-pity show in which he revels (and more accurately wallows) is only exceeded in disgustingness by his dishonesty and his uncontrolled lying.

His amorality and his indecency are on full display, and yet so many of the GOP enablers in the Senate refuse to look, while so many of his misguided supporters are unable to see that which is so horrifyingly obvious to the rest of us. It is maddening.

“American Democracy has been weakened, decayed and led by this illiberal man who, if he could, would cancel the election, lock up his political opponents, enrich his friends and remain in power for life.

Trump is the greatest failure in American History. No American has failed history’s test in a more spectacular fashion. His stoking of racial tensions and a cold civil war in our land will live in infamy. His disgrace will be eternal.@ProjectLincoln.”

Those who support him and his GOP enablers are complicit with his disgraceful words and deeds.”

He is a mistake. Time to fix it.
